Kaizer Chiefs confirmed five players will spend the 2026/27 season on loan in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Samkelo Zwane, Bontle Molefe, Sifiso Timba, Ofentse Kgosana and Vicky Mkhawana will join second-tier clubs for regular game time.
Potential Further Departures
Soccer Laduma reports that the exodus may not be over. Chiefs could loan out Xolani Cossa, Naledi Hlongwane and Pheko Phago before the transfer window closes to accelerate their development through regular first-team football.
Hope FC Interest in Hlongwane and Phago
Hope FC, newcomers to the Championship, reportedly attracted interest in Hlongwane. While the club already has Zwane and Molefe on loan from Amakhosi, talks are believed to have taken place for Hlongwane and Phago to join the club. A move has not been ruled out.
Cossa Set for Gomora United
Cossa is expected to complete a loan move to Gomora United for the season. He is a left-sided centre back who spent last season on loan to Black Lions FC in the Botswana Premier League. Gomora are waiting for Amakhosi to finalise paperwork for his signing.
Other Players in the Mix
Nkosana Mbuthu, who was on loan to Leicesterford City for the second half of last season, is another player who could get an opportunity to get game time elsewhere in this campaign.
The club’s strategy appears focused on giving young talents regular minutes in competitive matches, hoping to return them with experience and match-ready form for the next season.
