Chiefs Loan Out Two Senior Players Before Window Closes

Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the loan moves of midfielder Samkelo Zwane and goalkeeper Bontle Molefe to Hope FC ahead of the PSL transfer window deadline on 31 August 2024. The club also sent three academy prospects-Ofentse Kgosana, Vicky Mkhawana, and Sfiso Simba-to clubs in Mpumalanga and Gauteng for the season.

Senior Players Loaned to Hope FC

Kaizer Chiefs announced that midfielder Samkelo Zwane and goalkeeper Bontle Molefe will spend the 2024-25 season on loan at Hope FC, a Cape Town club competing in the Motsepe Foundation League. The moves are aimed at giving the players regular first-team minutes and proving their readiness for a return to the Amakhosi squad next season.

Academy Prospects Head to Mpumalanga and Gauteng

Three youth academy talents were also loaned out. Ofentse Kgosana and Vicky Mkhawana joined Real Natives (formerly Casric Stars) in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, for the season. Sfiso Simba will remain closer to home, linking up with Gomora FC in Gauteng.

Chiefs’ Transfer Window Activity

The loan announcements form part of a broader reshaping of the squad under coach Fernando Da Cruz. Departures this window include Aden McCarthy (Sabah, Azerbaijan), Tashreeq Morris (Durban City), and Given Msimango, Ashley Du Preez, and Gopolang Taunyana (Stellenbosch FC). George Matlou, Happy Mashiane, and Gaston Sirino have also left the club.

New Signings

Chiefs have added Thabo Moloisane and Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch FC, Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko from Azam FC in Tanzania, Renaldo Leaner, and Faiz Abrahams (on loan from Stellenbosch FC). These arrivals are expected to bolster the squad as the club prepares for the upcoming season.

Transfer Window Deadline

With the PSL transfer window closing on 31 August 2024, further activity at Naturena cannot be ruled out. The club remains active in the market as it seeks to balance experience and youth in its roster.
