Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom has signed for Stellenbosch FC on a season-long loan from Indonesian Liga 1 club Borneo Samarinda. The move reunites the 26-year-old with his former Amakhosi coach, Gavin Hunt, who has now brought him to the Winelands club. Blom has signed a deal that will see him wear the number 35 shirt for the maroon outfit.
Blom, a South African international, returns to the Betway Premiership after spells in Major League Soccer with St Louis City and in Indonesia. "I believe the environment will help me recapture my sharpest form," Blom said in a statement released by the club.
Blom brings global experience
His arrival adds a player with top-flight experience from two continents to the Stellenbosch squad, which is looking to build on a strong previous campaign. Blom has two caps for Bafana Bafana and is looking to regain his best form under the guidance of Hunt, who managed him during his time at Naturena. The midfielder's versatility, having played at right-back and in central midfield, provides Hunt with additional options as the season progresses.

Chiefs are unbeaten in their last five matches, a run that includes four draws. They face a Stellenbosch side sitting seventh in the table, making the encounter a significant one in the early season. Blom's loan deal runs until the end of the current campaign, with his first potential appearance for his new club coming against the team where he started his professional career.
