Kaizer Chiefs FC have completed their first signing for the upcoming season, acquiring central defender Thabo Moloisane from Stellenbosch FC as a free agent. According to SABC Sport reporter Mazola Molefe, Moloisane has signed a contract with the Soweto giants. The 27-year-old defender emerged from Mamelodi Sundowns' Chloorkop academy and played for Cape Town All Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship before joining Maritzburg United in the Betway Premiership. Moloisane then moved to Stellenbosch FC in July 2023, where he made 115 appearances and won the Carling Knockout. He also made two appearances for Bafana Bafana. Kaizer Chiefs FC's connection with Stellenbosch FC has grown in recent years, with several players making the move from the Cape Winelands to Naturena. The club signed defender Zitha Kwinika and forward Ashley Du Preez in July 2022, and later acquired midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa in September 2023. With Moloisane's signing, Kaizer Chiefs FC are reshaping their central defensive department ahead of the new season. The club's updated centre-back options include Aden McCarthy, Inácio Miguel, Given Msimango, Zitha Kwinika, and Rushwin Dortley, giving Chiefs a mix of experience and younger options. Moloisane's experience and leadership will be valuable assets to the team. The signing is a significant boost to the club's defense, and fans will be eager to see Moloisane in action. The transfer window is set to open on 1 July, and Kaizer Chiefs FC can officially announce the signing then.
